Red wine is characterized by the benefits it brings to your health and your body, as it is a great ally to delay aging, lose weight and reduce cholesterol, to mention a few examples, however, the moderate consumption of this drink may be more powerful than you think, since red wine has the superpower to control the symptoms of depression and anxiety, disorders that are extremely delicate and need a lot of attention.

The University of Buffalo and Xuzhou Medical University conducted joint research in which they found that resveratol, one of the components of red wine, can be very effective in treating anxiety and depression. Experts were given the task of testing the effects of the ingredient through a group of mice who were injected with corticosterone, the hormone that helps regulate stress response, and when they noticed rodents had this sensation, they provided them with a high dose of resveratol with which they realized they were able to regulate their condition.

Dr. Ying Xu, an associate professor at the University of Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and head of the study, said resveratrol may be an effective alternative to drugs to treat patients suffering from depression and anxiety.

The results they obtained in the research were presented in the medical journal Neuropharmacology. However, the experts also noted that this is a primary stage of the study and that in no way should a glass of red wine be considered to replace the taking of medicines.

It is true that red wine has many benefits, including losing weight, however, it is important that you drink in moderation. Drinks with a certain degree of alcohol can cause addiction and, of course, the properties it contains that could benefit your health and your body would not be effective. Consult a doctor for better diagnosis and treatment; remember that disorders are not a game.
